Description:

Definition of an open-source platform for digital content management in public bodies, especially locally, in order to eliminate the role of the general government sector, and to improve and streamline these agencies’ internal processes, as well as good environmental practices.

ECOADMIN: a digital content management platform for Public Administrations and for the employment of good environmental practices,. This is an R&D&I project that forms part of the 2008-2011 National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation (TSI-020503-2008-11). It is a functional solution with technology to develop a digital content management platform in public bodies in order to eliminate the role of the general government sector and to improve these agencies’ internal processes, as well as good environmental practices. The project was carried out by a consortium formed by Ándago Ingeniería, esPublico, Ilitia Technologies, Digimate Computer, Research Centre on Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP), the regional Coslada government and the regional Almansa government.

The project objective pursues developing a technological platform called ECOADMIN that develops systems and enough infrastructures to provide all these management services, and to file and custody digital and electronic content.

Public Administrations manage vast contents as both producers and recipients, but always as managers and custodians of the legal and physical integrity. The largest amount tends to come in paper format. Public administrations do not have defined a common infrastructure that technological, procedural and legally, define the management of these conten.

ECOADMIN proposes a methodological, legal and technological framework that focuses on the management of these elements from a local entities environment.
