Description:
The RODAT project aims to develop a platform that allows greater interconnectivity between industrial and service robots, regardless of type, model or manufacturer, which will allow better management of data from these robots and, therefore, in time-saving solutions, cost and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Currently, despite the advances made by robots in terms of precision, repeatability, quality and progress of materials, these devices are still used as isolated machines from the point of view of information. Such information is of great value to the industry but, nevertheless, the data generated by such machines, such as trajectories, sensors, energy consumption, motor operation, supported load, or historical position, speed, batteries and configurations, among others, are despised today due to various factors, such as the lack of universal communication protocols, the existence of proprietary software or the lack of connectivity channels between robots and Industry 4.0 control systems.
In response to this need, the RODAT project will develop a system for collecting and analyzing information from robots, based on the cloud and using artificial intelligence models and Big Data solutions. The goal is to integrate it into companies as a service that provides the correct information at all times according to the company’s needs, such as identification of equipment that is not operating at optimal levels (robots, components or software), reduction of unplanned stops, downtime, energy savings, contribution to sustainability and even cooperation between factories.
The RODAT project, which is funded by the Agencia Valenciana de Innovación de la Generalitat Valenciana with file INNEST/2022/215 and co-financed by the European Union.
