{"id":14676,"date":"2026-10-15T11:54:28","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T09:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cigip.webs.upv.es\/?p=14676"},"modified":"2026-10-15T11:54:31","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T09:54:31","slug":"aimas-project-funding-aei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cigip.webs.upv.es\/en\/aimas-project-funding-aei\/","title":{"rendered":"CIGIP secures funding from the Spanish State Research Agency for the AIMAS project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CIGIP has secured funding for the <a href=\"https:\/\/cigip.webs.upv.es\/en\/ai-multi-agent-system-autonomous-decision-making-en\/\">AIMAS<\/a> project (AI Multi-Agent System for Autonomous Decision-Making in the Manufacturing Industry). It is funded by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) under the 2025 Knowledge Generation Projects programme.<\/p>\n<p>Manufacturing companies increasingly operate in highly dynamic environments, where production plans, resource availability, machine conditions and customer demand are constantly changing. Supporting these decisions requires intelligent systems able to analyse large amounts of real-time information and to coordinate complex operational processes. AIMAS will develop an advanced multi-agent artificial intelligence ecosystem that enables autonomous tactical and operational decision-making across manufacturing operations.<\/p>\n<h3>Specialised agents working together<\/h3>\n<p>The project will design an intelligent architecture in which specialised AI agents collaborate to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>generate and continuously update production plans;<\/li>\n<li>dynamically allocate resources and capacities;<\/li>\n<li>optimise scheduling and sequencing decisions;<\/li>\n<li>assess costs, efficiency and operational risks;<\/li>\n<li>respond autonomously to disruptions in real time;<\/li>\n<li>support managers with robust, data-driven recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the heart of AIMAS is an orchestrator agent. It continuously interprets the status of the factory using real-time operational data and coordinates the network of specialised agents. Together, they analyse alternative scenarios, negotiate optimal solutions and provide decision support, while humans remain in the loop for supervision and strategic decisions.<\/p>\n<p>AIMAS will integrate with existing industrial digital infrastructures (MES and plant information systems). In this way, it seeks to increase operational efficiency, resource utilisation, production flexibility, resilience against disruptions and sustainable manufacturing performance. The project is a step towards the next generation of AI-enabled smart manufacturing and Industry 5.0, in which autonomous intelligent systems collaborate with human experts.
