CIGIP, at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia, organised CIO 2026, the XXX Congreso de Ingenier\u00eda de Organizaci\u00f3n and 20th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management (ICIEIM), held in Alcoy on 2 and 3 July 2026 at the Fundici\u00f3 Rodes urban technology park. The conference was supported by ADINGOR and Alcoy City Council.<\/p>\n
This edition brought together 134 scientific papers by 322 authors from 78 organisations in 18 countries, and the programme included panel discussions with experts and practitioners from industry, academia and public institutions.<\/p>\n
The motto of this edition was “Organising the Future: People, AI, Ethics and Sustainable Industrial Engineering”. The keynote talks were “Artificial Intelligence-enabled viable supply chains”, by Dmitry Ivanov (Berlin School of Economics and Law), and “Reimagining Engineering Education 5.0: From Technical Expertise to Future-Oriented Competence Development”, by Manuel Woschank (Montanuniversit\u00e4t Leoben) and Corina Pacher (Resources Innovation Center Leoben). Full papers are published in Springer’s LNDECT series, and the programme included a Doctoral Symposium and a gala dinner at the Sal\u00f3n Rotonda of the C\u00edrculo Industrial de Alcoy.<\/p>\n
The opening ceremony featured Ra\u00fal Poler<\/a>, Secretary of CIGIP; Josefa Mula<\/a>, Conference Chair; Alberto Belda Ripoll, Alcoy’s Councillor for Education and University; Mar\u00eda del Mar Alemany<\/a>, President of ADINGOR; and Manuel D\u00edaz-Madro\u00f1ero<\/a>, Chair of the Scientific Committee, who gave special thanks to the Organising Committee and to Raquel Sanchis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The conference also had the collaboration of the AITEX technology centre and companies including Aceitunas La Espa\u00f1ola, Alcoy Industrial, Beditex Fabrics & Lab, Calconut, Destiler\u00edas Sinc, FACTOR Ingenier\u00eda y Decoletaje, Global Omnium, Grupo Erum, Grupo Ubesol Laboratorios Maverick and La Uni\u00f3n Alcoyana Seguros, as well as the UniMaaS project.<\/p>\n Selected papers may be published in the special issue “Modeling and Managing Complex Supply Chain Systems: Resilience, Sustainability, and Innovation in Operations” of the journal Systems (MDPI), co-edited by Beatriz Andr\u00e9s<\/a> and Eugenia Babiloni<\/a>.
