class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This proposal is the continuation of the results obtained in the research project entitled &#8220;Optimisation of zero-defects productiontechnologies enabling supply chains 4.0 (CADS4.0)&#8221; and referenced RTI2018-101344-B-I00. The main objective of this proof-of-concept proposal, CADS4.0-II, is the validation and transfer to the production sector of the supply chain 4.0 metamodel and optimisation algorithms developed in the previous research project as well as the new algorithms to be developed in this project. Thus, the CADS4.0-II proposal is based on the validation and transfer to selected industrial sectors of the research results obtained in the CADS4.0 research project, which has defined and addressed the concept of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) from the perspective of production management and engineering. Specifically, the main factors facilitating the transformation of the supply chain towards I4.0 have been identified. Furthermore, the current state of supply chain 4.0 implementations has been considered from a sustainability perspective, but also from the perspective of the main digital and production technologies. In this regard, a metamodel of a 4.0 supply chain has been generated that integrates 21 I4.0 design principles, 48 I4.0 enabling technologies and 10 operations management processes. This metamodel envisages a sustainable strategy and is supported by management techniques such as zero-defect manufacturing, lean manufacturing, smart scheduling or the circular economy approach. Based on this CADS4.0 metamodel, we have identified and investigated the groupings of complementary digital transformation schemes that are most relevant to the area of operations management, proposing and validating different frameworks and conceptual models for the dynamic configuration of the industrial plant, lean supply chain planning 4.0, smart production scheduling and sustainable inventory management. Tools and models in the form of mathematical formulation and optimisation, heuristic, metaheuristic, matheuristic and simulation algorithms have been identified, investigated and proposed for the most relevant groupings of schemes or individual schemes related to the area of operations management. This proof-of-concept proposal is framed within Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027 within the thematic groups of Horizon Europe, specifically in group 4. Digital World, Industry, Space and Defense and in its national strategic lines of &#8220;Mathematical modelling and analysis and new mathematical solutions for science and technology&#8221; and &#8220;Artificial Intelligence and Robotics&#8221;. The resulting product will be a digital manufacturing platform based on optimisation algorithms for supply chain planning and management in an I4.0 context and ready to be transferred to potentially interested companies. As a conclusion of the project, the aim is to reach TRL 7 at the end of this 24-month project, obtaining prototypes that can be scaled up to industrial level. The project will contribute to the development of optimised production technologies at pilot or preindustrial level to obtain new supply chain management processes through an innovative approach to optimising the main operations management problems.
