Researchers from the Alcoy campus of the UPV, awarded for their research on the capacity of companies to face crisis contexts

At the 5th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management
Raquel Sanchis and Raúl Poler, researchers at the Production Management and Engineering Research Center of the Higher Polytechnic School of Alcoy, have been awarded at the 5th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management, with the award for the best paper presented in the area of manufacturing.
The communication titled “Order Fulfilment Strategies in the Capital Good Sector. An Empirical Research”, which was developed in collaboration with researchers Eduardo Saiz and Eduardo Castellano from IKERLAN, Technological Research Center, revealed what the main problems of companies are of the machinery and capital goods sector that operate in mass customization scenarios to achieve business resilience (companies’ ability to face and anticipate crisis contexts).
According to the authors, being able to know the real problems that companies face in mass customization scenarios is really interesting, in order to direct research efforts towards the development of tools that help solve these difficulties.
The communication is the result of the European Research Project: Resilient Multi-Plant Networks (REMPLANET), led by the Production Management and Engineering Research Center (CIGIP) on the Alcoy Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
