The paper “Business Viewpoint Evolution in Capability-Driven Ecosystems”, by Llanos Cuenca, Miguel Ángel Mateo-Casalí, Javier A. Cuartas-Micieces and Andrés Boza from CIGIP, received the Best Paper Award in the Service Systems & Product Design, Industrial Marketing and Consumer Behavior area at CIO 2026, the XXX Congreso de Ingeniería de Organización and 20th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management, held in Alcoy on 2 and 3 July.
The paper presents a capability-centric approach for aligning stakeholder needs, business value and platform evolution within the MaaSAI project. Its main idea is that platform development should be driven by value creation, not only by technical considerations.
With this approach, the Business Viewpoint is no longer a static artefact defined in the early stages of the project, but a continuous alignment mechanism that supports decision-making, prioritisation and value delivery throughout the entire lifecycle.
The paper is part of the European MaaSAI project (Horizon Europe, GA 101177368) and will be available once the conference proceedings are published.
