The Center for Research in Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP) of the UPV organizes the 6th International Conference on Interoperability of Business Systems and Applications (I-ESA’12), from March 20 to 23, 2012.

The 6th International Conference on Interoperability of Business Systems and Applications (I-ESA’12) is organized by the Universitat Politècnica de València, INTERVAL (Spanish Pole of the I-VLab) and INTEROPV-Lab (European Virtual Laboratory for Business Interoperability).

This conference is the annual meeting of INTEROP-VLab, the largest community of business interoperability experts in Europe and China. It is a network of organizations that integrates universities, research centers, industrial partners and SMEs.

Since the first edition, which took place in Geneva in 2005, the I-ESA international conferences have established themselves as the most important event worldwide in the field of interoperability of business systems and applications.

So-called “enterprise interoperability” is the ability of an organization to work with other companies without requiring special effort. This ability to interact and exchange information, both internally and with external organizations (partners, suppliers, clients, citizens, etc.), is a key factor to improve competitiveness in today’s economy.

This is a fundamental factor to produce goods or services quickly and reduce costs and efforts. In addition, it ensures high levels of quality, customization, service and security.

Under the theme “Designing enterprise interoperability in the Internet of the future”, the I-ESA’12 conference will bring together professionals; experts; public and private sector entities, and researchers and organizations -both regional and international- who will debate over the four days on the latest applications of business interoperability in the fields of e-health, manufacturing, logistics or transportation.

Through presentations, presentations of scientific articles and analysis of real cases, participants will exchange opinions, ideas, results and experiences, and discuss the problems related to interoperability that they encounter in their daily lives.
