Description:
In a C/RdS/D (Chain/Supply Network/Distribution), and according to a mass customisation strategy, it is necessary to consider coordination between planning C/RdS/D and undertaking production processes, and the smart configuration of products/complex and dynamic processes. In this coordination, Orders/Production Orders (Order Fulfilment) come into play in a changing and dynamic environment. This coordination will involve the connection between the Optimisation/Mathematical Programming approach, of such a long-standing tradition in C/RdS/D management, with the Events Management approach linked to executing orders by an interaction with the use of simulation and heuristic techniques as a fundamental element to help decision making. This will require adapting product/process modelling methodologies, business modelling and business processes where planning and operation execution processes are analysed from different viewpoints (physical, organisational, informational, functional and decisional) as fundamental input to effectively simulate the dynamics of these processes in highly complex dynamic environments and to make suitable decisions almost in real time. To be able to suitably address this approach, methodologies, algorithms and tools should be developed that cover modelling, simulations, implementations and that measure the performance of the involved processes.
The project objectives are to develop:
- A model that includes the planning processes of the production and management of orders in the supply chain for complex products manufactured according to the mass customisation paradigm.
- A product structures alignment model/process model with the supply chain from the mass customisation perspect.
- An events management simulator which simulates the casuistry that occurs in current dynamic environments and affects the above processes.
- A smart technology platform that implements previous processes and interacts with the simulator to help rapid decision making within the execution framework.
- A performance measurement system that allows previous processes to be evaluated.
- A smart/adaptable product/process model in a supply chain of products whose structure is complex and ever-changing in a mass customisation context.
